FB post claiming Comelec disqualified “5 Makabayan bloc partylists” FAKE

A fake online post claiming the Commission on Elections (Comelec) disqualified “five partylists” of the Makabayan bloc is still being circulated on social media.

Contrary to the count on the fake post’s headline, the infographic listed six partylists — Bayan Muna, Anak Bayan, Anak Pawis, Act-Teachers, Gabriela and Kabataan Partylist–as supposedly disqualified for taking part in a plot to bring down the government, as a result of an April 26 petition of Angela O. Aguilar.

Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez has called this viral post as untrue. The Comelec has still not decided on Aguilar’s petition as of election day.

More, Anak Bayan is not even running in this election. It is not included in both the Comelec’s tentative and certified list of candidates.
